BAYC NFT owner curiously lost ETH 100
Owner of 57 NFTs from the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) collection lost ETH 100 worth USD 150,000 in a messed up domain sale.
The owner of a large amount of NFTs going by the Twitter name "franklinisbored", who owns 57 BAYC NFTs, created the ENS domain "stop-doing-fake-bids-its-honestly-lame-my-guy.eth" using an alternative wallet.
The move was part of a meme mocking similar Twitter accounts.
After an offer of ETH 1.9 (USD 2,900) came in for his ENS domain, franklinisbored immediately accepted the offer, but forgot to cancel his offer to buy back the domain for ETH 100.
He described this absurd action on Twitter and emphasized: "This is a mistake that doesn't just happen to anyone."
"I was celebrating my joke selling the domain, but through my greed I forgot to cancel my own offer to buy it back for 100 ETH. This is going to be the joke and blunder of the century. I deserve all the jokes and criticism."
ENS is a blockchain name protocol that allows names to be mined as ERC-721 tokens that can be linked to crypto wallets. It has become a handy tool that eliminates the need to share tedious automated wallet address IDs.
Analyst opinion
This example shows how far greed can go in the crypto world. So always be careful and, as they say: "Measure twice, cut once".
