Degen Zoo Creator Shames Failed Logan Paul Project

DAO Maker founder Christoph Zaknun has created a fully playable NFT game called Degen Zoo in just 30 days, making a mockery of the failed Crypto Zoo project by well-known YouTuber, Logan Paul.

The Crypto Zoo project was announced back in August 2021 and Logan Paul claimed that users would be able to purchase eggs, which would then hatch into NFT animals that could be staked to earn passive income. Despite the fact that the game raised over $3 million, the project never came to fruition and Paul became the black sheep of the NFT community.

At the end of last year, Paul was called upon to defend himself against claims that he had intentionally defrauded investors. Eventually, a statement was issued that the project was impossible to create due to the time pressures involved. Zaknun responded to this statement by saying that it was able to create a similar game in just 30 days. Paul subsequently responded via a YouTube video, stating that Zaknun "has no right to dictate the required development timeline." However, Zaknun did not back down. Instead, he began building.

What started as mockery has grown into a legitimate NFT gaming platform

Initially, this project was only meant to discredit and ridicule the famous YouTuber, but as time went on, the project gained momentum. Degen Zoo gained over 250,000 followers on Twitter in a very short period of time, due to the regular posting of updates on the game's development.

As Zaknun said it would, Degen Zoo was launched 30 days after the start of development, and since then, 115,000 wallets have been registered with a total value of over 700 million USD, setting a world record for am IDO. Just a few days since its release, the testnet version of Degen Zoo has seen over 30,000 transactions from more than 3,000 players.

What Degen Zoo is about

The game shows the impact humanity has on animals. Players are motivated to sacrifice their NFT animals for profit through a mathematical staking game that lays bare the fragile relationship between humans and animals.

The game features 120 species of animals that players can acquire from eggs. Each of the animals has its own unique ARP, which ranges from -85% to 1500%. These NFTs can then be staked by players in order to obtain a $DZOO game token, which they can then burn (sacrificing animals) which will result in increasing the rarity of all other specimens of the same species.

Players also have the option to consume additional NFTs during the game, in order to boost and increase the overall APR. In other words, the game continues until all animals are extinct, as the keepers want to monetize their rewards.

So, Christoph Zaknun has done what he said he would do and created a fully functional NFT game in just 30 days, and to make matters more damning for Logan Paul, he has also announced that all proceeds from the game will be donated to charity.
