Exclusive NFT Playlists from Spotify
Spotify continues to integrate NFT on its platform. According to a report from metaverse group Kingship, the platform will use NFTs to unlock exclusive content and token-protected playlists.
The NFT-protected playlists were announced just ahead of the company's upcoming Stream-On Event, which starts on March 8 and is likely to reveal more information about the upcoming program.
Spotify's pilot program will initially be limited to specific regions. It will only be available to Android users in the US, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. iPhone owners will have to wait for now, as Apple is limiting NFT-related features for now.
Kingship will release a special playlist as part of the program that will only be available to NFT Kingship Key holders. Playlists from this program will only be available to holders of specific NFTs.
Information about this pilot program shows that Spotify is very interested in NFT. If the project succeeds, it could open the way for ever-expanding exclusive content with tokens and NFT. Spotify confirmed the project via replies to tweets posted on Kingship and Overlord's channels. The company confirmed that it conducts regular tests to improve the online customer experience.
Spotify's interest in Web 3.0 technology has been evident for some time. The company previously offered jobs for its marketing and technical departments, with the condition that the interested party had a strong knowledge of blockchain and Web 3.0 technologies.
