HyperPlay Arrives With a Big Innovation for Web 3.0 Gaming.

After a long wait, HyperPlay, a Web 3.0 launcher that serves as a game launcher and store aggregator, has finally been launched. The app will offer access to the Epic Games and Good Old Games stores in its interface.

The HyperPlay app, developed by the former head of operations at MetaMask, was co-developed with Game7, a Web 3.0 gaming DAO. HyperPlay is available on all major platforms and has been optimized for MetaMask wallet users.

According to the app's creator, who goes by the moniker, JacobC.eth, the tool "solves the distribution problem and frees game developers from the risk of deplatforming by monopolies such as Apple, Google and Steam." He goes on to state that, "unlike the Apple Store, we don't take a 30% cut of the game economy of your development. We're super loyal to developers."

HyperPlay stands out in that rather than taking a cut from game sales or in-game transactions, it generates profit based on offering "convenience features." This is a similar principle to MetaMask's profit generation, in that these features are offered within the app.

There are many titles available for players in HyperPlay

There are several Web 3.0 games waiting for players in the app, such as Altiros, Fight Force 4, Moon Blaster and many more. But in addition to Web 3.0 games, there will also be support for classic games that are not based on the blockchain.

The HyperPlay app is already available for Windows, Mac, Steam Deck and Linux. All you have to do is download the app via the official website, install it and connect it to your MetaMask wallet for which the app is optimized. Alternatively, you can use WalletConnect.

According to JacobC.eth, the launcher "paints" the MetaMask layer into games to enhance the overall experience. This means players no longer have to minimize the game or switch to other windows to complete a transaction. Among other things, HyperPlay focuses on strong security to keep users as protected as possible from malicious files.

"The keys are separated from the game itself," JacobC.eth explained. "If the game is malicious, you don't want your recovery secret phrase exposed in game."

Thus, if any of the games in the HyperPlay launcher do happen to contain a malicious file, users are assured that they are protected from having their account exploited, as the key is stored outside of the game.
