Pokemon Sleep, the Long-awaited Sleep Monitoring Game, is Coming Out This Year
On Monday, February 27, the Pokémon Company unveiled some details from their most anticipated product, Pokemon Sleep.
The Pokemon Sleep mobile app was unveiled in 2019, and more details about this upcoming app were revealed through two videos during the live stream on February 27, 2023.
This sleep app is set on a small island where Snorlax (sleeping Pokémon) and Professor Neroli live and study the sleeping styles of Pokémon. It is an app that monitors sleep. There are many such apps. However, Pokemon Sleep aims to make this "activity" fun. Sleep is divided into three categories in the app: Dozing, Snoozing, Slumbering.
The principle is simple when you go to sleep, you put your phone next to you, and it will monitor the quality of your sleep. In the morning, the app will evaluate which of the three categories you belong to based on your sleep duration, and the Pokémon that have a similar sleeping style to yours will appear in the app accordingly.
Here's a short video of how the app works:
In addition to the app, which is scheduled for release later this year, a new Pokemon Go Plus Plus device has also been unveiled. This device is an improved version of the previous Pokemon Go Plus model released for the Pokemon Go mobile game. It acts as an automatic Pokemon catcher, activating Pokestops nearby, from which players earn rewards.
The new model does all of the above but adds better Pokemon catching and, most importantly, will be able to connect with the upcoming Pokemon Sleep app. The device needs to be connected to the app via Bluetooth and controlled with just one button. As it's a small device, it won't get in the way on your bed or in your pocket. Pokemon Go Plus Plus will better monitor your sleep, so you get better and more accurate data. Plus, it has a built-in speaker from which you can hear Pikachu wishing you good night and good morning or singing you a lullaby ☺.
The device is expected to include even more features to be introduced later. Scheduled for release on June 14, 2023, it's likely that the Pokemon Sleep app will be released shortly after, as it's scheduled for release in the summer of 2023, except in certain regions. The app will be available for both Android and iOS mobile phones.
