Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) has once again introduced something new for its holders. This time, it's an exclusive minigame called Dookey Dash. In order to play the game, you need a Sewer Pass - the NFT that acts as your ticket into the game. BAYC or Mutant Ape Yacht Club NFT holders can pick up their pass for free from January 17 2023, to February 8 2023, on the official website. The minigame was launched on 18 January and works very simply. Players float through the sewer, pick up items and dodge obstacles. The further they get and the more items they collect, the better their score will be on the leaderboard. Players have an unlimited number of attempts within the above-mentioned time span, but only their best result will be placed on the leaderboard.
What is the purpose of the Sewer Pass?
The Sewer Pass will be used as the ticket to the minigame itself. However, it will be divided into different types depending on which NFT the user owns. The best Sewer Pass will be given to those who have both an NFT Monkey (BAYC/MAYC) and a BAYC Doggo. The higher the category of the pass, the more upgrades the player will get in the game.
Players who do not hold these NFTs have only one opportunity to get the Sewer Pass: they have to buy it from holders. The pass saves the game score for each wallet separately. Therefore, if you receive a Sewer Pass from someone, you will not be able to get a win for the score achieved by the previous holder.
The leaderboard will close on 8 February, 2023 and the verification of results will start from that moment. The user who achieved the highest score will be rewarded with a mystery key and a huge amount of other rewards. However, there is no need to be sad, because anyone who scores better than 0 will be rewarded. Depending on the ranking, the player will then receive special rewards/items to use in future adventures in the Ape-verse.
Why is the game set in a sewer?
The story behind this minigame is very funny. Curtis received a mysterious box with a key from another universe. However, the monkeys threw a party before opening it, and Jimmy accidentally swallowed the key while finishing one of his drinks. The key got stuck in his butthole, so he hasn't left the toilet since. It's up to the players to go down the sewer and get as close as possible to Jimmy's toilet and, therefore, to the key itself.
How does Dookey Dash work?
As mentioned above, this is a skill-based game in which players have to dodge obstacles and pick up all sorts of items. The game mechanics are similar to popular games like Subway Surfers. If players are not satisfied with the stats provided by a given Sewer Pass, they can upgrade them for ApeCoins.
